Hey folks, here is episode 23 of G4’s Icons show spotlighting the Mattel Intellivision. For anyone that doesn’t already know, the Intellivision was the Atari 2600’s main competitor an an over all more powerful machine. Not saying it was better (that’s not for me to say), just more powerful. Not sure how long the video link will last (I didn’t post it), but enjoy it while it lasts.

Great Promotional Video For The Bally Astrocade System From 1982
5 01 2014Found a link to this on Reddit a few minutes ago (thanks for the great link, Canada_Bacon_Beer why not go click that link and give him and “up vote” or two for both the link and the awesome nick name), and had to share it with you. It’s a promotional video fro one of my favourite obscure consoles, the Bally Astrocade. Check it out:

A Fantastic Intellivision Haul…And More!
5 01 2014I decided to peruse a local online buy and sell site to see if there was any retro treasure to be found… There was! I bagged a boxed, great condition Intellivision, a crap load of great games, the Intellivoice add-on. But that, my fine feathered Internet friends was not all. No indeed, it is not. Included with the Intellivision was the extremely rare Educational Computer System (ECS) add-on, with the also ridiculously rare Music Synthesizer keyboard add-on. Pretty crazy, eh? Well, wait – there’s even more: the guy also threw in an Atari XE computer/console, matching joystick AND light gun, some Atari paddle controllers, a Kraft joystick, and the really cool button controller for Track and Field.
I got this entire haul for a total of $85 Canadian. The ECS and the XE didn’t come with power supplies, but I tested the XE with an existing power supply from the XE I already have and it works great, as does the ECS as I was able to test it using a Nintendo Entertainment System power supply.
Freakin’ awesome!

Calgary Pincade Show September 28, 2013
30 09 2013I had an awesome time this weekend at the Calgary Pincade Show. Local pinball and arcade machine owners brought out their machines to all to play. Admission was $15 at the door or $20 for the weekend. Quite a few games were up for sale and they had two pinball machines for raffle. It was an awesome time and I can hardly wait for next year.
Check out The few pictures and video I caught while there:

13 05 2013Just me playing the great arcade game port of Space Fortress on the Bally Astrocade. The original arcade game was called Space Zap, something I couldn’t remember when I was recording the video.
Check out my video below:
To get a better idea how good this console was, check out the original arcade game in this video I found on Youtube:

Master Everdrive Flash Cart for The Sega Master System
12 05 2013Just posted a quick video demonstrating the Master Everdrive flash cart for the Sega Master System. The cartridge came as just a board and I had to cannibalize a case from an American Baseball game I had laying around. I had to cut a slot out of the case for the SD card to fit.
