5 01 2014

Found a link to this on Reddit a few minutes ago (thanks for the great link, Canada_Bacon_Beer why not go click that link and give him and “up vote” or two for both the link and the awesome nick name), and had to share it with you. It’s a promotional video fro one of my favourite obscure consoles, the Bally Astrocade. Check it out:

Calgary Pincade Show September 28, 2013

30 09 2013

I had an awesome time this weekend at the Calgary Pincade Show. Local pinball and arcade machine owners brought out their machines to all to play. Admission was $15 at the door or $20 for the weekend. Quite a few games were up for sale and they had two pinball machines for raffle. It was an awesome time and I can hardly wait for next year.

Check out The few pictures and video I caught while there:

Bally Road Runner Electro Mechanical Racer

4 09 2013

Well, you don’t see one of these babies very day… In fact, the one and only time I saw one of these was in a train station in Ottawa, Ontario thirty-seven years ago. And then again on August 27, 2013 when we visited the awesome Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas. This is a neat take on racing and Interestingly, the car that you control is projected on a piece of glass in a kind of ghostly manner, and when you crash, which I did continuously, that ghost car is seen tumbling. Unfortunately that did not show up in this video.

Classic Arcade Pinball Plug and Play

22 05 2013

Hey people of Earth, hope all is well.

Today I would like to share a quick video of me giving you a tour of the “Classic Arcade Pinball” plug and play game system. It has three tables, runs on four AA batteries and is loads of fun, if cheezy. The unit itself is styled after the 50’s and seems to be 16 bit. Check out my video below!

Space Fortress On the Bally Astrocade

13 05 2013

Just me playing the great arcade game port of Space Fortress on the Bally Astrocade. The original arcade game was called Space Zap, something I couldn’t remember when I was recording the video.

Check out my video below:

To get a better idea how good this console was, check out the original arcade game in this video I found on Youtube:

The Incredible Wizard for the Bally Astrocade

11 05 2013

Hey people of Earth… Hope you are all well.

I just uploaded a little game play video that I recorded of the fantastic port of Wizard of Wor for the Bally Astrocade. This version is titled, The Incredible Wizard, but don’t let the name fool you: this is the best home port of Wizard of Wor.

Check out the video below:

Bought Two Astrocade Games – And Now I Find Myself With a Decision to Make

9 05 2013

So I find myself lucky enough to have acquired two more Bally Astrocade games,Bally Pin (Pinball) and The Incredible Wizard. I relly pumped to have these games, especially the incredible Wizard (my favourite home version of Wizard of War). The Incredible Wizard is basically the reason I got an Astrocade. There’s only one problem: both games are still factory sealed. They made it all the way from 1979 to today without being opened.

Damn.

I really want to play The Incredible Wizard on my own Astrocade.

I am so close to opening them up.

So close…

What would you do? Also, stay tuned to find out if I did or I didn’t.
