Holy Crap: I Finished the Campaign in Call of Duty – World at War

33485952842_a46ecf331b_z_dMan… I have to post here more often.

So, while it may have taken me seven or eight years, but I have finally gotten around to completing the campaign in Call of Duty – World at War. Having been recently been added to the backwards compatible titles for XBOX ONE, the game has recently been brought back into the limelight somewhat.

For those that are not aware of it, World at War was the last Call of Duty title to take place in World War 2 and the third Call of Duty title developed by the folks at Treyarch. This is the game that quickly became (and remained), my favourite of the series. Yet despite being my favourite, I barely touched the campaign, having been sucked into the online game play.  It wasn’t until earlier this month, when I agreed to play some multiplayer campaign with some of my fellow old fart gamer friends that I decided that I needed to revisit the game’s campaign.

Man-o-man, am I glad I did. The game is intense and engrossing. The campaign has moments of brutality one moment and and elation the next. The graphics, at least to these tired eyes, still look good for a game pushing nine years of age. The pace is frenetic… This is war – the final pushes in the West and East for the allies.

This is such a good  game…
